Maintenance Worker

Position Title: Maintenance Worker

Reports To: Personnel Committee or their designee.

Position Summary: The maintenance position is responsible for ensuring all areas of the campus and all projects are in good repair and to maintain a safe environment and professional appearance. This employee is expected to work in a manner that is consistent with the mission and guiding principles of the church. This position is connected to the faith and ministry of the church and moves forward the vision of Mountain View Baptist Church.

Responsibilities:

• Performs routine maintenance on building interior and exterior.
• Maintains a schedule of when maintenance has been performed and when next service is due based on infrastructure needs.
• Maintains all equipment through filter exchanges, cleaning, and lubrication.
• Performs building security functions, locking, arming/disarming buildings outside of normal church activities.
• May oversee independent contractors and vendors, cleaning, HVAC etc.
• Manages HVAC controls for the facility.
• Works in a safe manner and recognizes unsafe situations. Takes appropriate action to ensure safety of themselves and others on church campus.
• Assists in setup for major church functions. Will be expected to dedicate more time to the position during peak activity times (Vacation Bible School, week of July 4th when building is closed, and any other times as needed. Regular chair setup in the sanctuary is to be completed each week before Sunday services.
• Provides building access for ministries if ever needed.
• Other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, sit; use hands to utilize tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift or move up to fifty pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

Security Requirements:
Must pass a background check to be in the building with the daycare children.

Pay: $11.00 - $14.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 per week
