What are the responsibilities and job description for the Gym Aide position at Mountain Valley Therapy?
Mountain Valley Therapy is an outpatient Physical and Occupational Therapy clinic. We find joy in helping people and supporting our community through Physical and Occupational Therapy, fitness and outreach programs and services. We are committed to providing the highest quality therapeutic care to reduce symptoms, maximize functional abilities and improve quality of life. The Gym Aide will greet patients and guide them to treatment rooms, clean treatment rooms, complete laundry on a daily basis and assist clinical staff with treatment as needed.
Requirements
- At least eighteen (18) years old
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- General computer & internet knowledge
- Interest in health and the human body
- Flexible schedule
- Lift & move 50 pounds
- Must have CPR-AED certificate or be willing to get one.
Preferences
- Experience working with and around patients
- Experience working with people in a pool setting
- Knowledge of HIPAA
- Physical/Occupational Therapy interest/knowledge
Preferred experience is not required to apply but candidates with experience in these areas will be given interviewing priority.

Position Duties and Responsibilities:
- Welcomes patients and visitors to the clinic by greeting patients and visitors in person.
- Guides patients from waiting room to treatment rooms or rehab gym as determined by the treating clinician.
- Assists with checking patients in and out.
- Answers inquiries or refers questions to other staff members as needed.
- Endeavors to keep patients on schedule by reminding provider of service delays.
- Assists ill or distraught patients as necessary.
- Maintains all clinic areas in a neat and orderly condition.
- Actively participates in emergency and incident situations when required. Summons ambulance or EMS or assists other staff members as needed.
- Opens and closes the clinic as needed.
- Manages the waitlist of patients.
- Assists in discharging patients as directed by treating clinical staff.
- Data entry into Electronic Medical Records system.
- Provides an updated active patient list for clinical staff to help track patient plan of care.
- Assists patients with ambulation needs as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Schedule:
- ~20 hours per week
- Day shift
- Monday to Friday
Salary : $15 - $15
