About the Employer

Located in the greater Redding area, the Mountain Valley Special Education JPA is a consortium of 13 small school districts and one charter school that was created to provide a broader continuum of services for students with disabilities.

Job Summary

STRS retirement participant; Health, Dental and Vision benefits for positions working 6 hrs/day or more. Bonus and benefits prorated for part time positions. Bonus is for fully credentialed candidates who have completed their clinical fellowship year. MVJPA pays for clinical fellowship supervision. Year for year school experience credit for placement on salary schedule. Under the direction of the director or designee and the immediate supervision of the site principal, the Speech and Language Pathologist provides specialized instruction and services for students who have disorders of language and speech which includes hearing, voice, pragmatics/social communication, expressive/receptive language and fluency; performs language assessments; assists in developing the Individualized Educational Program for students with language and speech disorders; consults and collaborates with teachers and parents regarding strategies which enable access to and progress in the general education curriculum.

Licenses/Credentials/Experience: Speech-Language Pathology Services Credential-Language, Speech & Hearing, or Clinical or Rehabilitative Services or equivalent Must pass pre-employment physical examination and fingerprint clearance following an offer of employment. Desired: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) or a Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY). Education : Master’s degree required

As a recruitment incentive, the Speech and Language Therapist who has completed their clinical fellowship year shall be granted a sum of up to ten thousand dollars ($12,000). 1st half ($6000) to be paid in the first paycheck and 2nd half ($6,000) to be paid at the end of the 2nd school year providing the employee is in active paid status at the time of the final school year paycheck. Bonus and benefits prorated for part time positions. Bonus is prorated for less than 8 hrs/day. May only receive one sign-on bonus from the MVJPA or its member districts. Cannot receive two bonuses from two different districts within the JPA. SLPs that hired through an agency are not eligible for the bonus. MVJPA pays for clinical fellowship year supervision. This is an itinerant position; You will be traveling to different school sites within Shasta County.0. Mileage will be paid at the IRS mileage reimbursement rate Cell phone stipend to be paid at $50/month. Medical paid for by the MVJPA for up to $10,750 / year, Dental and Vision is free.
