At Mountain Valley Developmental Services (MVDS), we’re looking for a Registered Nurse (RN) to join our care coordination team. In this role, you’ll provide health oversight, training, and advocacy for individuals with developmental disabilities in Garfield, Pitkin, Eagle, and Lake Counties.
This is a full-time position with a Monday- Friday schedule and occasional early or late hours to meet training or care needs. You’ll have the chance to work closely with the people we support — building real relationships and seeing the lasting impact of your work.

What You’ll Do
- Provide training & competency checks for staff, including QMAP classes and health protocol implementation
- Monitor and assess medical needs through site visits, annual reviews, and emergency guidance
- Coordinate hospital admissions/discharges, psychiatric services, and follow-up care
- Oversee medication management, documentation, and compliance with healthcare regulations
- Serve as a liaison between staff, families, providers, and pharmacies to ensure seamless communication
- Maintain accurate, timely medical records and update procedures to meet state regulations
What We’re Looking For
- Current Colorado RN license (required)
- Experience with adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities preferred
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and documentation skills
- Valid Colorado driver’s license and clean driving record
- Ability to manage multiple priorities with compassion and professionalism

Full Job Description
In addition to the duties listed above, this position includes responsibilities outlined in Colorado healthcare regulations, including:
- Conducting annual and as-needed assessments for medication self-administration (6 CCR 1011—Chapter 8)
- Providing and documenting QMAP training and competency evaluations
- Monitoring psychotropic medications for side effects and abnormal movements
- Developing and maintaining individualized healthcare, therapeutic, and nutritional protocols
- Coordinating psychiatric services, informed consents, and follow-up care
- Performing TB tests, flu shots, ear irrigations, and other nursing procedures as needed
- Serving as a medical resource during emergencies and treatment decision-making
