Mountain Valley Community School is seeking a dedicated and student-centered Educational Technician III to support Title I mathematics instruction in the elementary grades. This position plays a key role in helping students strengthen foundational math skills, build confidence, and access grade-level instruction through targeted intervention and small-group support.
The Title I Math Ed Tech III works closely with classroom teachers, intervention staff, and school leadership to provide high-quality academic support aligned with identified student needs and schoolwide improvement goals.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instructional support to students in mathematics through small-group and individual intervention, both inside and outside the general education classroom
- Support implementation of Title I math intervention programs and materials as directed by certified staff
- Assist teachers in reinforcing grade-level math concepts, including number sense, operations, fractions, problem solving, and mathematical reasoning
- Collect and maintain accurate data on student progress and intervention effectiveness
- Collaborate with classroom teachers and intervention teams to adjust supports based on student response to instruction
- Support administration of math assessments and progress monitoring tools as needed
- Reinforce positive student engagement, perseverance, and productive mathematical habits
- Contribute to a supportive, structured, and encouraging learning environment for all students
Qualifications:
- Maine Educational Technician III certification
- Experience working with students in educational or intervention settings, preferably in mathematics
- Strong understanding of foundational math concepts and willingness to learn school-adopted curricula and intervention systems
- Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and intervention teams
- Strong communication skills and ability to build positive relationships with students
- Commitment to equity, student growth, and supporting diverse learners
Preferred Experience:
- Experience with Title I programming or academic intervention
- Familiarity with data-driven instruction and progress monitoring
- Experience supporting small-group math instruction in the elementary grades
