CDL/Transit Driver

Overview:
Mountain Transit Authority is hiring bus operators in the Pocahontas County/Snowshoe area. This is through Mountain Transit Authority and not Snowshoe Resort.

Class C CDL with passenger endorsement is required for this position during the Snowshoe Season. Must be 21 years old to apply due to insurance regulations. Each applicant must pass a pre-employment drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Operate transit buses safely and efficiently, adhering to all traffic laws and regulations.
• Provide excellent customer service to passengers, ensuring a comfortable and safe travel experience.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and maintenance.
• Assist passengers with boarding and disembarking, including those with disabilities.
• Maintain accurate records of routes, schedules, and passenger counts.
• Communicate effectively with dispatch and other team members to coordinate transit operations.
• Location: Pocahontas County/Snowshoe Area.

Overview
Mountain Transit Authority is currently hiring part-time Class C CDL Drivers with Passenger Endorsement for the Snowshoe Season (November to Approximately April).

• This Position Will Run: Sunday to Saturday from 6:00 AM to 2:00 AM.
• Probationary Period: A 90-day probationary period is required
• License Requirements: Minimum of Class C CDL with Passenger Endorsement is required before being hired.
• Must be at least 21 years old (per insurance requirements).
• Pre-employment drug screening required.
• Retirees and Veterans are strongly encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Safely and efficiently operate transit vehicles in compliance with traffic laws and company policies.
• Provide excellent customer service to passengers, ensuring a safe and comfortable experience.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and readiness.
• Maintain the cleanliness and appearance of assigned vehicles.
• Assist passengers with boarding, seating, and disembarking, including individuals with disabilities.
• Accurately record routes, schedules, passenger counts, and related reports.
• Communicate effectively with dispatch and team members to ensure smooth transit operations.

Qualifications

• Must have a minimum of a Class C CDL License with passenger endorsement
• Safe driving record with no major violations.
• Ability to pass pre-employment drug screening.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including early mornings, evenings, and holidays as needed.
• Physically able to assist passengers and perform job duties.

Pay: $23.00 per hour
