Overview
We are seeking an outgoing, friendly and detail-oriented Dental Treatment Coordinator to join our dental team. In this vital role, you will serve as the primary point of contact for patients, guiding them through their treatment plans, scheduling appointments, and ensuring a seamless patient experience. Duties

  • Act as the liaison between patients, dentists, and insurance providers to coordinate treatment plans and verify insurance coverage.
  • Schedule patient appointments efficiently using dental office management software.
  • Review and explain treatment plans, financial options, and payment procedures clearly to patients.
  • Manage patient records accurately within Dentrix, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Assist with insurance verification, claims submission, and follow-up on unpaid or denied claims
  • Provide excellent patient service by answering multi-line phone systems with professionalism and maintaining positive communication at all times.
  • Support medical administrative tasks including filing, documentation review, dental coding, and billing processes related to dental procedures.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of dental terminology and CDT coding standards, and insurance policies to facilitate accurate documentation review and care planning.
  • Handle intake procedures for new patients, ensuring all necessary forms are completed accurately and efficiently.
  • Uphold confidentiality standards by adhering to HIPAA guidelines during all patient interactions and record handling.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in a dental office environment or medical administrative support role with strong knowledge of dental terminology and clinic procedures.
  • Strong understanding of dental billing, coding, insurance verification processes, and health information management standards including HIPAA compliance.
  • Excellent computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel), typing (10 key), and multi-line phone systems.
  • Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively in person and over the phone; bilingual abilities are a plus.
  • Ability to review documentation thoroughly while maintaining attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
  • Prior clinic or dental office experience is preferred; familiarity with Dentrix is advantageous.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining professionalism and accuracy. Pay: $17.00 - $25.00 per hour

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Proven experience in a dental office or medical clinic setting with strong knowledge of dental terminology and dental coding practices.
  • Familiarity with dental practice management software such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft; experience with Dentrix is highly preferred.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA compliance standards along with CPT coding, ICD-10/ICD-9 coding for accurate documentation and billing.
  • Excellent computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and typing accuracy (10 key typing).
  • Strong customer service skills with professional phone etiquette and the ability to handle multi-line phone systems confidently.
  • Ability to review medical documentation thoroughly while maintaining attention to detail in documentation review processes.
  • Previous clinic or dental office experience is highly desirable; familiarity with insurance verification and dental billing procedures is essential.
