Responsibilities
- Perform thorough cleaning of resident rooms, common areas, bathrooms, kitchens, and hallways using appropriate cleaning supplies and techniques
- Maintain high standards of sanitation by adhering to OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) guidelines and environmental services protocols
- Conduct floor care tasks including sweeping, mopping, buffing, and carpet cleaning to ensure surfaces are safe and presentable
- Restock cleaning supplies and ensure all janitorial equipment is properly maintained and stored
- Follow established procedures for infection control and sanitation to promote a healthy environment for residents and staff
- Assist with waste disposal and ensure all areas meet cleanliness standards consistently
- Collaborate with staff to address specific cleaning needs related to hospital or healthcare environments when necessary
Requirements
- Prior janitorial or custodial experience, preferably in healthcare or residential care settings such as hospitals or assisted living facilities
- Knowledge of OSHA standards related to cleaning, sanitation, and safety procedures
- Experience with environmental services including floor care, commercial cleaning, and general custodial tasks
- Ability to operate cleaning equipment safely and effectively
- Strong attention to detail with a proactive approach to maintaining cleanliness standards
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Flexibility to work part-time hours with availability during weekends as needed
