Independent Sales Representative — Territory Sales (Commission)

About the Role

Mountain State Timbercraft LLC is a premium, heavy-timber construction company specializing in custom-built garden enclosures designed to last decades, not seasons. We're expanding into new Virginia territories and looking for an independent sales representative to generate leads, meet with homeowners, and close sales in the Williamsburg area. This is a commission-based, 1099 contractor role — you handle sales and client relationships; our professional build crews handle all construction.

What You'll Do

• Generate local leads through social media, local networking, and referrals
• Meet with prospective clients in person to present our product line and provide quotes
• Close sales using our established pricing and materials specifications
• Maintain client communication through the sales process and handoff to our build team
• Represent the Mountain State Timbercraft brand professionally in your territory

• A dedicated build crew — you are never responsible for construction
• Uncapped commission-based earning potential per project closed

Qualifications

• Prior experience in sales, especially outside/field sales, home services, or construction-adjacent industries preferred
• Comfortable with commission-only compensation and self-directed work
• Reliable transportation and ability to meet clients on-site within the territory
• Strong communication and follow-up skills
• Familiarity with local Williamsburg-area community a plus

Compensation Details

Commission ranges from $200 to $950 per sale depending on project size. Our most popular structures average $650–$800 in commission per closed sale. No cap on earnings — the more you close, the more you earn.

Pay: $40,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
