Position Summary
The Branch Manager is responsible for the overall success, performance, and profitability of the branch. This role oversees daily operations, ensures compliance with credit union policies and regulatory requirements, provides leadership and coaching to staff, and delivers exceptional member service. The Branch Manager is also accountable for driving business growth, meeting sales and service goals, and fostering strong community relationships.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Management
- Oversee day-to-day branch operations to ensure efficiency, accuracy, and compliance.
- Ensure adherence to credit union policies, procedures, and all applicable federal and state regulations.
- Manage cash operations, audits, security, and risk controls.
- Monitor branch performance metrics and implement improvements where needed.
Leadership & Staff Development
- Supervise, train, and coach branch staff to achieve performance and service standards.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing feedback.
- Promote a positive work environment that emphasizes teamwork, professionalism, and accountability.
Member Service
- Ensure a high standard of member satisfaction by resolving escalated concerns effectively.
- Promote credit union products and services that meet members’ financial needs.
- Foster relationships with members encourage loyalty and long-term engagement.
Business Development
- Lead efforts to increase branch membership, deposits, loans, and other financial services.
- Actively participate in community events and develop partnerships that enhance the credit union’s visibility.
- Identify opportunities for cross-selling and meeting members’ financial goals.
Compliance & Risk Management
- Maintain knowledge of credit union regulations, policies, and industry trends.
- Ensure branch compliance with Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Anti-Money Laundering (AML), and Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) requirements.
- Manage branch audits and ensure corrective action plans are implemented when necessary.
Qualifications
· High school diploma or equivalent.
- 3–5 years of financial institution experience, including at least 2 years in a supervisory/management role.
- Strong knowledge of financial products, services, and credit union operations.
- Excellent leadership, coaching, and people management skills.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational abilities.
- Proficiency with financial software systems and Microsoft Office applications.
Work Environment
- Office/branch setting with routine member interaction.
- This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as phones, computers, copiers.
- Ability to lift 35 lbs.
- May require travel to community events, training, or other branches.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $23.08 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
