What are the responsibilities and job description for the Infant Teacher position at Mountain Sprouts Children's Center?
Infant Teacher | 3-12 Months
Mountain Sprouts Children’s Center - Park City, UT
Mountain Sprouts Children’s Center is looking for a loving, dependable, and engaged Infant Teacher to join our team! This position works in our Seedlings classroom with babies approximately 3-12 months old.
We are a small, relationship-focused childcare center that values responsive caregiving, outdoor experiences, play-based learning, and creating a warm home-away-from-home for children.
What You'll Do
As an Infant Teacher, you'll work alongside another teacher to care for a small group of babies throughout their day. Responsibilities include:
- Providing warm, responsive and attentive care
- Feeding bottles and introducing/serving solid foods
- Diapering and maintaining accurate daily records
- Following safe-sleep practices and supporting infant sleep routines
- Providing tummy time, floor play and age-appropriate developmental activities
- Reading, singing, talking and actively engaging with babies
- Supporting milestones such as rolling, sitting, crawling, self-feeding and early communication
- Spending time outdoors with the children
- Communicating with families through Brightwheel
- Keeping the infant classroom clean, organized and well stocked
- Working closely with your co-teacher to maintain a calm, consistent classroom
We're Looking for Someone Who
Genuinely loves working with babies. Infant care can be busy, messy and demanding, so patience and the ability to stay calm when several little people need you at once are important!
Our ideal teacher is nurturing, reliable, attentive and comfortable being actively involved throughout the day. You should enjoy getting down on the floor to play, singing songs, reading books, giving lots of snuggles and helping babies explore their world.
Previous infant or childcare experience is preferred, but we are also open to the right person who is eager to learn.
Requirements
- Must be able to pass required childcare background checks
- Meet Utah childcare licensing requirements
- Complete required training and continuing education
- Be able to regularly lift and carry infants and get up and down from the floor
- Reliable attendance and punctuality
- Ability to work cooperatively as part of a teaching team
About Mountain Sprouts
Mountain Sprouts is a locally owned childcare center in the Park City area serving children from infancy through preschool. We believe young children learn through relationships, movement, exploration, play and everyday experiences.
For our babies especially, caregiving is teaching. Feeding a bottle, singing during a diaper change, helping a baby learn to sit, reading together or comforting them through a hard moment are all meaningful parts of their development.
If you're someone who lights up around babies and wants to spend your day helping little humans feel safe, loved and confident as they grow, we'd love to meet you!
