What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Records Specialist position at Mountain Sleep Diagnostics?
Mountain Sleep Diagnostics is Colorado's premier Sleep Disorder Testing Company. We have 8 locations across the state.
This position is located in our Brighton, CO office, but can also be remote or a combination of the two with approval from the Director.
Primary Job Duties:
- Managing the finalization, uploading & faxing of all sleep study notes/records.
- Responsible for keeping record of reading/interpreting providers on each record for payment & auditing purposes.
- Prepare and mail patient statements, collection information and other documents from the Billing department
- Assisting with processing & maintaining records for Contract Referrals
- Assisting the Order Entry team members when assigned
- Assisting with Medical Record requests when assigned
- Working other clerical duties as requested
- Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications & Abilities:
- 1-3 years Medical Office Experience
- Customer service experience in healthcare settings
- Attention to detail updating patient demographics, insurance, and any other patient details.
- The ability to work both independently and as a team member.
- Ability to pivot and multitask throughout the day
- Excellent customer service skills to include both verbal and written.
- Demonstrate self-motivation, self-direction, organization skills and ability to deal with any level of stress in a professional manner.
- Strong typing and computer skills.
- Clerical experience
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous Medical Records and/or Medical Data entry experience
- 4 years medical experience
- Lab Retriever & Azalea EMR experience
- Experience using Digium phone system
- Sleep Medicine Experience
- Understanding of Insurance
Education:
- High School or Equivalent

Pay: $17.00 - $22.50 per hour
