Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Athletic Trainer II, you will have direct patient contact for the evaluation and treatment of medical and musculoskeletal pathology, consistent with the scope and practice of athletic training as defined by the Board of Certification (BOC) and state acts.

 

Every day you will apply your clinical competencies in diverse settings such as clinics, secondary schools, or sports clubs, providing high-quality care to athletes and active individuals, often with minimal supervision.

 

To be successful in this role, you will possess strong athletic training clinical expertise, a deep understanding of musculoskeletal pathology, and the ability to adapt your skills across various job settings while delivering compassionate and effective patient care.

  • Completes evaluation and treatment of medical and musculoskeletal pathology consistent with the scope and practice. Participates in the daily care of athletes, including injury prevention, injury evaluation and diagnosis, immediate care, treatment, injury rehabilitation and reconditioning, organization, and administration.
  • Collaborate with sports medicine team in order to develop and implement comprehensive best practices for injury prevention, injury evaluation and diagnosis, immediate care, treatment, injury rehabilitation and reconditioning, organization, and administration.
  • Works with sports medicine team, school administration, school health programs, and coaches to manage concussions, including coordinating neurocognitive testing, managing return to play criteria, and supervising graded exertion protocols.
  • Communicates with students, parents, coach, administration, and sports medicine team as appropriate about student conditions.
  • Perform clinical skills and delegated tasks within the scope of practice of a certified athletic trainer.
  • Delivers athlete medical care in a positive, caring, and empathetic manner while working to assure all patient questions are answered in a helpful manner. Perform as a high-level medical team member and participate in the functions and activities essential to the athletic training facility operations.

This full time AT will cover all sports at our high school in Summit County.

Job Requirements

Required

  • CAATE accredited professional Athletic Training program
  • Bachelor's in Athletic traning or related field
  • Two (2) years of athletic training experience
  • Board Certified Athletic Trainer Certification
  • Athletic Trainer Registration/Licensure to be obtained prior to start of athletic coverage.
  • BLS from the American Heart Association with 90 days of hire.
  • Current valid driver's license
