Elementary School Teacher (Grades 1-5)

Mountain Phoenix Community School is accepting applications for

Full-Time Lower School/Elementary School Teachers (grades 1-5)

for the 2025-26 School Year

Our creative and passionate leadership team is creating a pool of resumes of Lower School Teachers that could potentially join our collaborative work with faculty, staff, and parents/caregivers. The ideal candidate has experience teaching students within an inclusive, safe, and respectful learning environment and a strong interest in offering Public Waldorf education.

A Colorado teaching license and Waldorf teacher training or certifications are highly desired. All employees of the school will be employed on an at-will basis and will meet fingerprinting and background check requirements. All Teachers will meet the “in-field” guidelines set forth in the Colorado state ESSA (Every Student Succeeds Act) plan, by meeting at least one of the following requirements (1) endorsement on a Colorado teaching license; (2) holding at least a BA or higher in the relevant subject area; (3) holding at least a BA in any content area and completion of 36 semester credit hours in the subject matter in which s/he/they teach(es); or (4) holding at least a BA in any content area and passing a State Board approved content exam in the relevant subject area. The school recognizes the value of state teacher certification and will encourage teachers to pursue their license.

The ideal candidate will also have the desire to complete or have completed Waldorf Grades Teacher training and/or have experience teaching in a school using the Waldorf methodology, meet teacher requirements under ESSA, and seek to carry and nurture a class for many years.
