Medical Assistant

Per diem to part-time Medical Assistant needed for busy medical office in Saranac Lake, NY. Duties include but not limited to: rooming patients, checking vitals, drawing blood, collecting patient samples, EKG's, answering phones, etc.

Skills: Must have great customer service skills, computer experience as well as organizational and excellent multi-tasking skills. Past medical experience is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients warmly and assist them with check-in procedures to foster a positive experience.
• Take vital signs, record medical histories, and prepare patients for examinations under the supervision of healthcare providers.
• Assist with clinical procedures such as injections, specimen collection, and basic diagnostic tests.
• Maintain accurate patient records by documenting visits, treatments, and test results in electronic health records systems.
• Manage appointment scheduling, patient correspondence, and follow-up communications to ensure seamless clinic operations.
• Ensure exam rooms are clean, stocked, and ready for patient use while adhering to infection control protocols.
• Support administrative tasks including billing assistance, insurance verification, and data entry to streamline office workflows.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a Medical Assistant training program preferred.
• Proven experience working in a clinical or healthcare environment is advantageous.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate clearly and empathetically with diverse patient populations.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, basic clinical procedures, and electronic health records systems.
• Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced setting while maintaining attention to detail.
