What are the responsibilities and job description for the Engineer position at MOUNTAIN LODGE RENTAL MANAGEMENT LLC?
$25.00/hr - $30.00/hr, full-time, year-round with benefits (health, dental, vision, life, 401(k) w/ match, PTO)
Purpose of Position:
To ensure overall guest satisfaction by keeping the guest rooms as well as the public area
proper working order through using preventative maintenance techniques.
Essential Job Functions/Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned. Management also reserves the right to change or modify position descriptions from time-to-time to meet the needs of the business with or without notice).
- Resolve guests’ maintenance problems and handle all guest requests
- Perform simple preventative maintenance tasks in all guest rooms and other resort areas (i.e., change filters, replace light bulbs, repair drapery tracks, repair closet tracks, change remote control batteries, ensure proper working order of tub stoppers, etc.)
- Identify problems that cannot be readily repaired in guest rooms and write work orders for those problems
- Complete work orders from the housekeeping department in a timely fashion
- Perform swimming pool chemical tests and make necessary corrections, with training
- Basic knowledge of EMS and lifesaving systems, with training
- Thorough knowledge of emergency procedures
- Accurately complete daily rounds sheets and identify and report major problems as needed
- Perform regularly scheduled van maintenance checks
- Perform regular vacuum cleaner checks
- Provide guest services in a friendly and courteous manner
- Solve problems courteously and efficiently and alert the appropriate supervisor for follow through if necessary
- Keep the office/shop area clean and neat at all times, monitor all work areas for safety and sanitation
- Employ safe lifting techniques
- Correct any dangerous situation that may present itself. Initiate action and follow through until situation is resolved
- Upon observation of any unusual activity, report immediately thereon to the General Manager
- Have a working knowledge of the Engineering training manuals
- Practice ladder safety at all times

- WORK ENVIRIONMENT
- This is a very fast paced busy environment
- Regular attendance in conformance with the standards, which may be established by The Mountain Lodge Telluride from time-to-time, is essential to the successful performance of this position. Employees with irregular attendance will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.
- Employees may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the Hotel

- This position is monitored by direct/indirect supervision to ensure all unit procedures are adhered to.
- Upon employment, all employees are required to fully comply with The Mountain Lodge Telluride’s rules and regulations for the safe and efficient operation of the Hotel. Employees who violate any rules and regulations or policies and procedures will be subject to disciplinary action up to and including termination of employment

All employees must acquaint themselves with OSHA Standards regarding proper use, disposal and storage of chemicals, must practice common sense and not expose themselves to any work procedures which are not within the bounds of good safe practice or in the Hotel Safety Procedures.

Education/Vocational Experience
The education, specialized training, required licenses or certifications and/or years of directly related experience required to enter this job:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum one year of experience in the facilities management of related properties.
- Other comparable business (hospital/property management) preferably in the Hotel or Commercial office environment.
- Any licenses or permits required by law for specific job functions.
