Equipment Operator
We are seeking an experienced Equipment Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate is dependable, safety-focused, and capable of working independently with minimal supervision. This position requires someone who can step onto a job site, understand the task at hand, operate equipment efficiently, and help keep projects moving without constant direction.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate heavy equipment including excavators, skid steers, loaders, mini excavators, dozers, compactors, and related machinery
- Perform grading, excavation, drainage, trenching, site prep, material handling, and cleanup
- Read and understand site plans, grades, and layout instructions
- Work independently and make sound decisions in the field
- Maintain productivity while ensuring quality workmanship
- Conduct daily equipment inspections and basic maintenance
- Identify potential job site hazards and maintain a safe work environment
- Communicate effectively with crew members, subcontractors, and supervisors
- Assist with labor tasks when needed
Qualifications
- Proven experience operating heavy equipment in construction, excavation, landscaping, or site development
- Ability to work with little supervision and stay productive throughout the day
- Strong understanding of grading, drainage, and site work practices
- Experience working around utilities and underground infrastructure preferred
- Ability to read grade stakes, lasers, or site plans is a plus
- Reliable transportation and strong attendance record
- CDL is a plus but not required
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Must prioritize safety and take pride in quality work
