Position Summary:
This position is PRN.
Provides patient care in the office setting. Provides care that meets all general aspects of care; meets the communication needs of patient and family; provides care that reflects initiative and responsibility indicative of professional expectations, under the supervision of a Licensed Healthcare Provider. Maintains regulatory requirements, nursing and office policies, procedures and standards. Communicates with physicians and team members about patient’s clinical condition.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide direct patient care in the office setting
Communicating with patient to explain care being provided
Provide excellent customer service
Possess exemplary telephone communication skills
Assist in all procedures
Maintain patient rooms to meet guidelines of cleanliness
Maintain cleanliness throughout the building
Maintain inventory for patient care
Organize and schedule appointments
Identifying Primary, Secondary, and Tertiary insurances
Checking insurance eligibility and benefits verification
Preparing, reviewing, and transmitting claims via EMR
Follow up on unpaid/denied claims
Working collection accounts
Maintain patient medical records and keep current
Qualifications:
Good written and spoken communication skills
High level or morality and ethics
Ability to assist in medical procedures
Proficient with Microsoft Suite products
Ability to learn and operate clinical software quickly and proficiently
Competencies and Skills:
Must be able to properly take patient’s vital health information
Must be able to proficiently assist Provider with all procedures
Must be knowledgeable and follow all guidelines of the Health Information Portability Accountability Act (HIPAA)
Education and Experience:
High School diploma or equivalent certification is required.
Medical Assistant Diploma or Degree is preferred.
Education:
- High school or equivalent (Preferred)
License/Certification:
- Certified Medical Assistant (Preferred)
- BLS Certification (Preferred)
