What are the responsibilities and job description for the Operations Manager position at Mountain Crew Change Company?
As the Operations Manager, you directly oversee and coordinate and manage all aspects of the operations department to obtain optimum utilization of personnel, equipment, and facilities by overseeing the scheduling, operational forecasting, and planning/analysis for the best utilization of assets to maximize safety, customer service and efficiency.
- You will Work directly with the Charter and Tour departments to ensure customer needs are being met or exceeded.
- Possess a thorough and precise understanding of the State and Federal DOT Regulations as they relate to passenger transportation.
- Audit the drivers’ daily logs and charter orders to ensure completeness, accuracy, and legality. Learn and use the Log Sheet Evaluation software.
- Work directly with the Maintenance Manager to ensure vehicles are available for dispatch, while assisting him to be sure vehicles are available for needed services and/or repairs.
- Direct the activities of the Operations personnel including drivers, bus cleaners & dispatchers.
- Work directly with the General Manager and the Safety Manager to schedule quarterly driver meetings.
- Work with the Safety Manager to promptly investigate all accidents. Serve on the Safety Committee along with the Safety Manager, Maintenance Manager, and the Division President.
- Approve purchases and invoices for operational materials and supplies.
- Manage, distribute, and balance Petty Cash for drivers per diem and cash advances for anticipated trip expenses.
- Schedule vacations and leaves of absence for operations personnel.
- Supervise and verify payroll hours for personnel.
- Possess a working knowledge of all vehicles on the fleet to assist in trouble shooting both mechanical and operational issues as they arise.
To be considered for this role, you must possess:
· Excellent interpersonal, communications, public speaking, and presentation skills.
· Solid working knowledge of budgeting, operating plans, and strategic planning.
· Ability to generate respect and trust from staff and external constituencies.
· At least 3 years of experience, in a role related, such as supervisor or manager.
Familiarity with FMCSA safety and regulatory requirements of a transportation company is a must.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $60,000.00 - $66,000.00 per year
