What are the responsibilities and job description for the Psychiatric Advanced Nurse Practitioner position at Mountain Comprehensive Care Center, Inc.?
- Mental health nurse practitioners will evaluate and diagnose patients with mental and/or substance use disorders. The nurse practitioner will work with a collaborating.physician. The APRN will evaluate the needs of the patient and develop a treatment plan.
Skills
- Psychiatric APRN must have excellent written and verbal communication skills. The psychiatric APRN should be prepared to work with difficult and sometimes combative patients.
Qualifications and Education
- An active KY APRN license and DEA.
SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Must be able to make independent decisions when warranted; must be knowledgeable of nursing and medical practices and procedures as well as laws guidelines, regulations that pertain to quality patient care; must have strong clinical skills.
