Position Purpose

This role is primarily responsible for security and safety at the resort in addition to creating a memorable guest experience while supporting  Snowbowl’s work culture.  Performs security and asset protection duties.  Monitors and mitigates premise hazards and works closely with Base Operations to deliver exceptional guest service.

Qualifications

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provides security and asset protection services. 
• Patrols the base operations areas of the Arizona Snowbowl including all buildings at the ski area, Ski Lift Lodge, and Fort Valley Lodge by vehicle and on foot. 
• Observe and report all unlawful activities
• Writes and files investigative reports and maintains numerous daily records and logs.
• Directs and assists guests in a polite, professional manner and is helpful and friendly to both guests and employees. 
• May respond and investigate traffic accidents inside the ski area and on Snowbowl Road. 
• Works with Base Operations to ensure effective and efficient traffic flow at the ski area.
• May perform basic First Aid and CPR functions until the arrival of medical responders.
• Identifies and addresses public safety issues daily. 
• Offers aid to stranded motorists.
• Complies with all company policies and procedures.
• Works variable shifts with change frequently based on business hours, events, weddings, functions, and business demand. Hours may end late or start very early.
• Resolve guest conflicts and problems, satisfy the guests, and protect the company's interest and the law.  
• Oversee the public safety of all building and construction projects.
• Maintain the highest standards of employee and guest safety.
• Maintain a good working relationship and open communication with other departments and company upper management.
• Be willing to take on reasonable tasks and duties as assigned for the success of company-wide operations. 

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

• Knowledge, Skills,  & Abilities:  Exceptional guest service skills.  Excellent organizational and communication skills.  Precision, empathy, integrity, problem-solving, analytic ability, creativity, judgment, initiative, and strong oral and written communication skills.
• Experience:  Previous guest service or security experience preferred. 
• Education or formal training: Must have a High School or GED Diploma at minimum. Must have a valid Driver’s License and have a suitable driving record. Must pass a criminal background check. 
• Material and Equipment directly used:  Office equipment and computer, safely operate a company vehicle.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES:

• Must be able to lift 50 pounds. Must have the physical ability to walk up and down steep grades at 8,500 to 11,500 feet in elevation in all weather conditions. Must be able to stand for long periods of time. 50% to 75% of the workday may be spent outside.
