(FT or PT, Winter Seasonal Position)
Purpose of the position:
The purpose of the Snowbowl Retail Sales Associate is to assist our valued guests in finding the best gear that suits their specific needs, while delivering expectation-exceeding customer service throughout the process. It is crucial to effectively communicate product features and benefits, as many of our customers are unfamiliar with ski clothing and equipment. Our Retail Associates are also responsible for maintaining a clean, organized, and well-stocked shop at all times. Retail employees will need to be self motivated and are expected to take initiative to find projects to keep the retail shops orderly and fresh.
Essential Functions:
- Provide superior customer service to each guest.
- Basic knowledge of Arizona Snowbowl Ski Resort and cultural statements
- Continue to acquire additional knowledge of Snowbowl and general operations
- Be able to accurately handle payments and balance the cash drawer
- Able to communicate with guests, team and management effectively
- Offer Product Knowledge gained through trainings and clinics
- Keep the shop orderly and clean
- Count and take in inventory
- Restock the store with backstock brought up in the morning and throughout the day
- Actively gain knowledge of products and technology in the industry
- Assist with filling out a daily backstock sheet
- Complete Opening and closing checklists daily
Additional Functions (with pay increase):
- Attend Guest Service Training to better assist guests with issues, resort credits and season passes.
- Retrieve and gather accurate inventory from backstock location.
- Demonstrate basic leadership skills and initiate projects for the shop.
- Responsible for opening/closing of shop in absence of supervisor/manager.
- Responsible for transportation of backstock between inventory locations using company vehicles.
- Assist with merchandising and moving products between locations.
- Ensuring the proper function and integrity of the company vehicle.
- Extended knowledge of Arizona Snowbowl Ski Resort.
- Offer extended product knowledge gained through training and clinics to both guests and fellow employees.
- Properly certified and trained to tech ski and snowboard equipment for rent.
Education / Training / License(s) / Certification(s) Requirements:
- Attend training held by retail manager and retail supervisor
- Attend product clinics put on by company reps
Physical Requirements:
- Able to stand for long periods of time
- Lifting up to 25 pounds
- Cleaning/ maintaining lodge and department areas such as windows, picking up trash, shoveling snow, ect.
