Brush Crew Member
General Purpose:
This team is responsible for vegetation management and corridor clearing along ski trails using brush saws, trimmers, and other cutting tools. Work focuses on maintaining trail visibility, clearing overgrowth, and supporting overall trail maintenance operations. Brush saw, chainsaw, and/or heavy equipment experience preferred, but not required. Must be capable of working outdoors in all weather conditions and hiking in steep, uneven terrain while carrying tools/equipment. Must also be confident in the operation of vehicles on rugged 4x4 mountain roads.
This is a seasonal position from 5/11/26 to 11/4/26. Dates are subject to change based on the availability of the applicant and needs of the business. Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
● Perform vegetation clearing along ski trails using brush saws, trimmers, and other cutting tools
● Maintain trail corridors by removing overgrowth, brush, and encroaching vegetation
● Assist with improving trail visibility and skier/rider flow
● Occasionally assist sawyers with limbing, brush removal, and cleanup operations
● Safely operate and maintain hand tools, power tools, vehicles, and equipment
● Load, transport, and stage tools and equipment in remote terrain
● Drive trucks and trailers on steep, narrow, and rough 4x4 mountain roads
● Support Trails Maintenance, Snowmaking, and construction crews as needed
● Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members to complete work safely and efficiently
● Follow all safety protocols and use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE)
● Perform daily equipment inspections and basic maintenance
Other Responsibilities:
● Assist with revegetation efforts including seeding and erosion control
● Dig post holes and assist with fence and gate maintenance
● Support trail construction, drainage work, and material transport
● Maintain clean and organized work areas
● Clean up on-mountain trash
● Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Foundational knowledge in farming, logging, landscaping, construction, and/or outdoor labor is preferred.
This role requires:

● Physical coordination and endurance in steep terrain
● Ability to follow direction and work as part of a team
● Dependability, initiative, precision, and attention to detail
● Comfortability working with hand tools and small engine equipment
Additional skills include memory, reasoning, integrity, and the ability to identify and respond to auditory and environmental cues.
Special Certifications/Licensing: Valid Driver’s License required.
Education or Formal Training: None required.
Experience: A minimum of 6 months experience in related fields strongly preferred.
Working Environment/Physical Activities:
99% of the workday is spent outdoors in a mountain forest environment, in changing weather conditions including but not limited to: extreme cold and heat, wind, snow, rain, thunder and lightning storms. 20% of the workday is spent standing and 70% is spent walking on uneven terrain. 10% of the workday is spent sitting.
Frequent balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, handling, talking and listening, using near and far acuity depth perception, color and field of vision. Occasionally climbing, crawling, feeling, and smelling. Frequently lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling objects weighing up to 50 pounds, or occasionally up to 100lbs.
