Job Title: Assistant Director – Mountain Camp Marin
Location: San Rafael, California
Job Type: Seasonal / Summer Position
Dates:
Typical Camp Schedule: 8:00am – 5:30pm M-F, June 15- July 31, 2026 (7 weeks)
Camp is closed Friday, June 19th
Paid trainings in June (2-3 full days across two weekends, 3-4 evening trainings on weekdays)
Compensation:
$900-$1,200 / week of base salary dependent on experience and relevant qualifications, with the opportunity for bonuses based on camp enrollment metrics.
Includes camp tuition for up to 3 relatives (camp tuition is $900/week per camper). This benefit alone is worth up to $18,900.

Job Description:
We are seeking motivated and experienced individuals to join our leadership team as Assistant Directors. This role is ideal for candidates with a background in education, child development, or outdoor leadership who are looking to build management and leadership skills in a dynamic and rewarding environment.
- Assistant Directors are experienced childcare professionals who work tirelessly to cultivate life-changing summer experiences for campers and staff. Their responsibilities include but are not limited to: coaching and developing counselor staff, handling parent communication, implementing camper programming, and managing camp operations/logistics.
Responsibilities:
· Assist in managing camp operations, including schedules, activities, and logistics.
· Supervise and mentor a team of counselors and activity leaders.
· Facilitate staff training and ongoing professional development.
· Lead by example, creating a positive and inclusive camp culture.
· Serve as a point of contact for camper families, addressing questions and concerns.
· Monitor and ensure camper safety and adherence to camp policies.
· Help design and implement educational and recreational programs aligned with camp values.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in education, recreation, child development, or experience in a related field.
· Strong leadership and organizational skills.
· Previous experience working with children, ideally in a camp, educational, or recreational setting.
· Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with staff, campers, and families.
· Enthusiasm for outdoor activities and creating impactful learning experiences.
Dates and Compensation:
Camp runs from June 15th-July 31st, 2025
Paid Training dates: Beginning the weekend of June 6th, 2026... Training will include 2-3 full days on weekends and 3-4 evenings
Compensation: $900 per week, depending on performance, experience, and camp enrollment metrics
** Summer housing not included, but for the right candidate with appropriate experience, exceptions can be discussed.
