Recruitment Counselor

General Statement of Duties:

Under general direction of the Associate Director of Admissions, the Grade 3 Recruitment Counselor performs recruitment of prospective students throughout MWCC's service delivery area. Employees in this classification perform recruitment, marketing, and advisory work. Classification is responsible for recruiting prospective students, assisting prospective students with degree/career discernment, assisting students with the admissions process, and connecting prospective students with student financial resources during the onboarding process. Performs related work as directed.

The Recruitment Counselor will serve as an integral member of the Admissions Team in recruitment of learners throughout North Central MA and Southern New Hampshire, working to promote outreach to community business organizations and local and regional high schools. The Recruitment Counselor will hold on-campus information sessions for prospective students on MWCC campus and via Zoom. In this position, the Grade 3 Recruitment Counselor will have an integral role in the daily operation of recruitment activities on- and off-campus. The Recruitment Counselor will work out of the Admissions CRM database to maintain accurate recruitment and outreach records. Position will require travel and occasional evening and Saturday work hours.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain an admission travel territory to recruit prospective students at high schools, community business organizations to promote academic programs to prospective students and guide students through enrollment process;
• Assist with on campus recruitment events specifically designed for high school students and adult learners;
• Support recruitment programming at Community Business Organizations, with an emphasis on MASS Educate and MASS Reconnect.
• Conduct territory case management outreach via phone and email, and in-person and Zoom appointments for prospective students and families;
• Enhance promotion of recruitment and student financial services events throughout assigned territory;
• Assist with student outreach to via the CRM throughout the admissions funnel
• Explain career and transfer grids to prospective students as part of their introduction to MWCC;
• Help with transitions to college by connecting prospective students and applicants with Student Financial Services, advising on financial aid requirements, multiple measures, and the admissions process;
• Other outreach as determined by the Admissions team;
• Work collaboratively with Senior Admissions Counselors/Coordinators to develop strategies for attracting prospective students;
• Work collaboratively with Admissions, Advising, Career and Transfer teams to address prospective student career exploration and academic needs;
• Maintain required documentation.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Counseling, Education, Psychology, Organizational Behavior, Sociology, Liberal Arts, or closely related field
• Two (2) years experience and/or training involving public education, college admissions, academic advisement, or customer service; or
• An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Desired Qualifications:

• Bilingual/bicultural.

Salary: $58,979.00 - $100,530.00

Actual Salary determined by education, experience, and any applicable grant limitations per the collective bargaining agreement. Applicants should be aware it is unlikely the salary will be at or near the top of the range.
