Position Responsibilities

Mount Sinai Medical Center, a premier independent, not-for-profit academic medical center located in the heart of Miami Beach, is actively seeking a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Hepatobiliary Surgeon to join our dynamic and multidisciplinary care team.

Key Responsibilities:

Surgical Procedures: Performing both minimally invasive and open complex surgical procedures on the liver, pancreas, gallbladder, and bile ducts. 

Patient Care: Managing and treating a wide spectrum of hepatobiliary diseases, including tumors, gallstones, bile duct injuries, and other conditions. 

Multidisciplinary Collaboration: Working closely with other specialists like oncologists, gastroenterologists, radiologists, and other surgeons to develop comprehensive treatment plans. 

Teaching and Research:Contributing to the education of surgical residents and medical students and participating in research initiatives to advance the field. 

Required Skills and Experience

Demonstrated expertise in hepatobiliary and pancreatic surgery, including complex procedures. 

Completion of an AHPBA, SSO, or ASTS approved fellowship in HPB surgery is often preferred. 

Strong communication and collaborative skills to work effectively with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals. 

Ability to build and lead interdisciplinary teams and contribute to the development of the HPB service. 

A passion for teaching and a track record of involvement in research activities. 

A commitment to using data to improve surgical outcomes and quality of care. 

Leadership opportunities available commensurate with experience and interest.

 

Qualifications

 

  • Florida License - required
  • Previous Experience - preferred
