Position Responsabilities:
- Addresses and communicates patient food-related concerns and requirements to the Nutrition and Food Services department.
- Oversees patient meal services on designated units, including tasks such as menu selection assistance, tray setup, delivery and retrieval, fulfilling special requests, and providing snacks or meals between regular service times.
- Collaborates with nursing staff regarding patients’ dietary needs and the unit’s food service operations.
- Supports the dietitian by tracking patients who are NPO (nothing by mouth), on liquid diets, or require intake monitoring.
Understands and adheres to dietary restrictions associated with special or modified diets, ensuring patient preferences are accommodated within the prescribed dietary guidelines.
