Description

The Per Diem Occupational Therapist is responsible for evaluating and treating patients and facilitating rehabilitation and independence. Develops and designs treatment plans for physically, mentally and/or emotionally disabled patients. Occupational Therapists enable, enhance and improve patients ability to gain independent, productive daily living and working environments.


Responsibilities

1.Effectively evaluates and treats all patients

2.Maintains and charts evaluations and progress notes following note writing guidelines

3.Demonstrates knowledge and principles and theories relating to effective patient care.

4.Supervises OT students as assigned

5.Supervises volunteer staff as assigned.

6.Attends appropriate patient rounds, kardexes, conferences; presents information to all present.

7.Maintains equipment and treatment area in a clean, safe and efficient manner.

8.Follows standards of practice/care in the treatment of all patients.

9.Consistently treats the assigned number of patients.


Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Occupational Therapy. National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) preferred.
  • Knowledge of principles, methods, and procedures for diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation of physical and cognitive dysfunctions

Compensation Statement

 

The Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS) provides a salary range to comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for this role is $60.44 - $60.44 Hourly. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
