Responsibilities

Details of Research Project:

Our laboratory focuses on exploring and evaluating the complexity of molecular signaling crosstalk between cells in the kidney. We seek highly motivated and exceptionally creative candidate to lead a cutting-edge research project that aims to examine molecular mechanisms in the glomerulus that result in diabetic and non-diabetic kidney disease progression. The project will focus on exploring the key functional mechanisms of glomerular cell function and to validate the complex relationship between glomerular endothelial cells and podocytes.

Technical Duties: (include any protocols)

Design, set-up and run cell biological projects.

Experience with protein chemistry, purification, and characterization

Meticulous data documentation and organizational skills

Experience giving presentations of research findings to other members of the scientific community.

To be fluent with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, R, Matlab

Experience documenting, organizing, and tracking multiple ongoing projects

Excellent communication skills (written and oral)

Organized and diligent with time management and deadlines

Creative in proposing new methods, techniques or approaches

Qualifications

Educational and Other Requirements for the Position:

Hold a Ph.D. or MD. Ph.D.

Experience Required

Cell culture and mice handling.

First author publication in international peer reviewed journals.

Self-driven, enthusiastic and to have a drive to make a significant impact, are essential.

The Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS) provides salary ranges that comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $74,692.00 - $80,000.00 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and operational need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
