Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Mammography Technologist to join our dynamic imaging team. This vital role involves performing high-quality mammography procedures to assist in the early detection and diagnosis of breast health issues. Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic mammography procedures with attention to detail, ensuring optimal image quality for accurate interpretation.
- Prepare patients for imaging by explaining procedures, positioning them correctly, and addressing any concerns to ensure comfort and cooperation.
- Operate advanced medical imaging equipment including digital mammography units, DEXA scanners, and other related diagnostic tools such as ultrasound (sonography) when required.
- Implement radiation safety protocols rigorously to protect patients, staff, and yourself during all imaging procedures.
- Maintain thorough documentation of procedures, patient information, and equipment logs in compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Assist with additional imaging modalities such as PET scans, fluoroscopy, or nuclear medicine procedures as needed within your scope of practice.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including radiologists, technologists, and emergency care staff to support comprehensive diagnostic evaluation.
Requirements
- Certification as a Mammography Technologist from an accredited program; current state licensure or registration required.
- Proven experience in mammography within a healthcare setting; familiarity with digital imaging systems is essential.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and diagnostic radiology principles necessary for accurate image acquisition and interpretation support.
- Hands-on experience operating medical equipment such as X-ray machines, fluoroscopy units, DEXA scanners, PET scans, and nuclear medicine devices.
- Strong understanding of radiation safety standards and implementation of radiation protection protocols.
- Ability to demonstrate aseptic technique and maintain sterile environments during invasive or interventional radiology procedures.
- Excellent communication skills for patient interaction and team collaboration; ability to handle high-pressure situations calmly and efficiently.

Pay: $55.31 - $60.35 per hour
