Automotive Mechanic

Mount Pleasant Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram, a locally Owned and Operated Family Dealership, is seeking an experienced Used Car Technician to join our fast-growing pre-owned vehicle reconditioning team.

This role is perfect for a versatile, independent mechanic who can work on all makes and models in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. You’ll be a key part of getting our pre-owned and certified vehicles frontline-ready—handling everything from safety inspections and drivability diagnostics to brake jobs, fluid services, and light mechanical work.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform multi-point inspections and recommend required mechanical repairs
• Complete reconditioning repairs efficiently: brakes, suspension, A/C, fluids, drivability, etc.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical issues across multiple brands and vehicle types
• Work closely with the Internal Service Advisor and Used Car Manager on estimates and priority vehicles
• Maintain accurate repair documentation in the DMS (CDK experience a plus)
• Help ensure fast turn times while maintaining safety and quality standards
• Support cosmetic prep and recall completion when needed
  
  

Qualifications

• 2 years of hands-on experience in general automotive repair or dealership used car recon
• Comfortable working on multiple makes and models, not just one brand
• Diagnostic capability with modern tools (scan tools, MPIs, etc.)
• Strong attention to detail, cleanliness, and repair quality
• Ability to work independently in a deadline-driven shop
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
• ASE certification a plus (but not required)
