What are the responsibilities and job description for the Adjunct Biology Instructor position at Mount Mercy University?
St. Ambrose University at the Mount Mercy University campus is seeking an adjunct faculty member to teach laboratory sections of BI 150 – Basic Microbiology in our undergraduate programs for the Spring 2026 Semester. This course is taken predominantly by freshmen nursing majors as part of their major requirements.
There are several sections of the BI 150 – Basic Microbiology Laboratory. We are looking for an instructor to teach one or multiple lab sections. BI 150A meets Tuesdays from 11:00-1:50, BI 150B meets Tuesdays from 2:00-4:50, BI 150C meets Thursdays from 11:00-1:50 and BI 150D meets Thursdays from 2:00-4:50.
Candidates should have a doctorate or master's degree in biology, biochemistry or a related field, or be working towards completion of their degrees. Previous teaching experience is preferred. Screening of applications will begin immediately and continue until the position is filled.
