About the Job

Mount Laurel Animal Hospital is looking to hire a skilled and compassionate Veterinary Technician to serve as a Patient Care Advocate. This unique role bridge the gap between exceptional medicine and an exceptional client experience. As the primary liaison between our medical teams and pet owners, you ensure clients remain informed, supported, and confident throughout their pet's medical journey. If you are an experienced veterinary professional who thrives on building relationships, educating clients, and providing compassionate care while remaining flexible to meet the needs of a busy specialty and emergency hospital, we'd love to meet you.

Position Overview:

This role combines advanced client communication with hands-on veterinary support. While much of the day is dedicated to client education, follow-up care, and coordinating communication between departments, Patient Care Advocates are also expected to assist with patient handling, discharge appointments, and other clinical technician responsibilities whenever hospital operations require.

A Quick Look at a Day in the Life:

A day at Mount Laurel Animal Hospital starts before you even walk through the doors. As you drive onto our beautiful working farm campus, you are greeted by some of the animals that make our hospital such a unique place to work including longhorns, emus, goats, pigs, and geese are all part of the experience. It is not your average trip into work, and that is just the beginning. Forgot your coffee or breakfast on the way in? No problem. Our team enjoys access to a fully stocked breakfast bar along with free snacks available on site for staff, helping you start the day fueled and ready.

Once your shift begins, you will step into a fast-paced, team-centered hospital environment where your role truly matters. A typical day may begin by following up with clients after procedures, reviewing medical records, and coordinating updates with doctors and technicians. Throughout the day, you'll educate clients on medications, treatment plans, and home care instructions, answer questions with compassion, and help guide them through their pet's medical journey. When hospital needs shift, you'll step into a clinical support role by assisting with patient discharges, safely handling and restraining patients, and supporting the veterinary team to ensure seamless patient care. Every day brings new challenges, meaningful conversations, and opportunities to make a lasting impact on both pets and the people who love them.
