What are the responsibilities and job description for the Administrative Assistant / Lead Cashier position at Mount Joy Gift & Thrift?
Qualifications:
· Commitment to the mission and values of the organization, with a passion for serving the community
· One to Three years’ experience with Quick Books
· Proficiency with tools and systems i.e. Time Tracker, Microsoft Office, POS, email, etc.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
· Able to work independently or as part of a team

· Portray professional image in the community
· Ability to run a register with accuracy for a full shift 4-8 hours
Daily Money and Personnel Tasks:
· Clear all tills each day and reconcile into StoreLive.
· Maintain the integrity of the safe by doing Daily Safe audits.
· Handle petty cash
· Submit monthly report to accountant.
· Maintains cashier over/short log and investigates discrepancies.
· Complete end-of-month report for accountants to ensure accounts in Quick Books and Store Live are accurate.
· Maintain Time Tracker to ensure accurate accounting of staff and volunteer schedules including punches and hours, log and record vacation/sick leave hours for staff.
· Assign all new volunteers and staff ID# in Time Tracker.
Executive Director and Management Team Support:
· Maintain staff files and advise when performance appraisals are due
· Purchase supplies for the store and the office
· Manage the office for maximum efficiency
· Schedule and organize meetings, conferences, and department activities
· Establish, maintain and update filing systems
· Manage print and email lists of volunteers, staff, board and community stakeholders
· Open mail and respond to routine requests for information
Community Engagement:
· Promote opportunities for volunteering
· Promote the ongoing need for donations
· Assist in planning and organizing events to raise awareness of store and mission
· As needed, represent the organization at community events, fundraisers, and networking opportunities to raise awareness and promote the thrift store's mission

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
