Overview
We are seeking jolly and engaging Santas to bring the magic of the holiday season to life on the award winning The Polar Express™ Train Ride at Mount Hood Railroad. You will create memorable experiences for families and children during a train ride, ensuring that each interaction is filled with joy and wonder. Santa will hand out the first gift of Christmas, a bell from his sleigh! Santa will board the train and approach each table/row and greet each passenger on a moving train. Each train ride is about 30 mins of engagement then Santa gets to relax until the next train, we have 2-5 trains a day ranging from 4-10hour shifts.
Dates: November 14- Jan 2nd with up to 98 trains.
Responsibilities
- Always stay in character while on the train.
- Interact with children and families on the moving train. You approach them.
- Santa must be mobile and able to board a train with 3 large steps.
- Maintain a positive and friendly demeanor at all times, embodying the spirit of Santa.
- Costume/beard provided but real beards preferred
Experience
- Previous experience in theater or performing arts is highly desirable.
- Strong public speaking skills with the ability to communicate effectively with both children and adults.
- Experience working with children, including teaching or mentoring roles, is a plus.
- Background check required
