Job Summary and Responsibilities/Duties
Job Summary
Assists the athletic director and head coach with the planning, promotion, and administration of the conditioning program for athletic teams.
Essential Duties
- Assists with conducting and supervising strength and conditioning practice.
- Assists with organizing and supervising conditioning and weights.
- Assists with study hall and connecting student athletes with academic counseling resources.
- Assists in all recruiting functions.
- Assists with the distribution and maintenance of all team equipment, uniforms and apparel.
- Assists with organizing and the execution of clinics and workouts.
- Assists with game management and maintains accurate stats.
Additional Duties
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
Minimum and Desired Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in health, physical education or related degree OR a fitness certification from the National Academy of Sport Medicine (NASM), National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA), ACE, MHCC, or similar
- Possession of an appropriate, valid driver’s license, and the ability to be insured through the College insurance carrier. Must have three (3) years of driving history.
- Must complete the MHCC van driving certification within 30 days of hire
- Ability to travel for matches and tournaments
- Ability to work a flexible schedule
Equivalent combinations of education, experience, and training may be considered
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in health, physical education, or related degree
- Successful coaching and/or playing experience at NCAA, NAIA, NWAC collegiate level
- Fitness certification from the National Academy of Sport Medicine (NASM), National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA), ACE, MHCC, or similar

- Work professionally with student, staff, faculty, and others
- Handle the physical demands of team practice and competition
- Communicate professionally and effectively, both orally and in writing

Salary Placement
Initial salary placement will be within the posted range or pay rate of the position, and is based on applicable education and/or years of relevant full-time equivalent experience at the sole discretion of the College and in accordance with all applicable state and federal laws. Please include all relevant education and full and part-time experience (including unpaid and volunteer experience) in your application that you want the College to review towards potential placement. Hired employees will not have an opportunity to update past education and/or experience or appeal initial placement after the time of hire.
