Job Description

The Department of Psychology and Education at Mount Holyoke College invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor position in the area of clinical developmental psychology beginning July 1, 2027. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated record of strong teaching at the undergraduate level, an active research program that can engage undergraduates as research assistants, and experience mentoring students who are broadly diverse with regard to race, ethnicity, socioeconomic status, gender, nationality, sexual orientation, disability, and religion. The successful candidate will teach 200-level courses in clinical and developmental psychology as well as advanced 300-level laboratory and seminar courses in their area of specialization. The candidate will also contribute to one of three core courses (i.e., Introduction to Psychology, Statistics, or Research Methods). The teaching load is 4 courses per year. Graduate-level training in clinical practice is preferred. PhD or ABD required.

The Psychology & Education Department maintains a rich and collaborative environment of active scholarship. Mount Holyoke supports faculty scholarship through department funds as well as competitive faculty grants, and laboratory space is available to accommodate research needs. Mount Holyoke also offers a comprehensive faculty mentoring program and invests in faculty across their career span.

Minimum starting rate of pay: $90,000.
