What are the responsibilities and job description for the Building Lead Custodian position at Mount Greylock Regional School District?

The Building Lead Custodian functions as a member of the custodial team as outlined in the Mt. Greylock RSD ESP collective bargaining agreement. In addition to custodial responsibilities the building leads responsibilities are expanded to include those duties listed below.

Responsibilities of the Custodial Building Lead include, but are not limited to: 1. implements custodial assignment and schedule changes and manages any coverage issues due to absence;2.


in collaboration with the building principal or their designee, schedules custodians for coverage of facilities and grounds for non-school time activities, events, and programs and oversees the preparation of school building facilities and grounds for designated non-school time activities, events and programs;3.

reviews inventory, orders, and takes receipt of custodial products and supplies;4.

responds to and takes appropriate action with respect to off-hours building issues through both on-site and remote efforts with Custodial Building Lead overtime pay;collaborates with building principal on custodial employee evaluations;5.

assists the building principal in the recruitment and hiring of custodial staff; 6.


receives notice of contracted building maintenance, inspection, and repair appointments from the Director of Operations or their designee, and receives any associated contractors;7.

reviews building function and cleanliness status and collaborates with the building principal and Director of Operations on ways to improve any issues;8.

makes recommendations to the building and district administration with respect to annual budgeting needs.

For the above responsibilities, Custodial Building Leads shall receive a stipend (of $15,759 for which will be prorated based on start date) on top of their regular wages;The base hourly rate for the Custodial Building Lead shall be the top step of the Custodial salary schedule ($25.

84/hour for Overtime outside of a Custodial Building Leads typical assignment hours shall be paid at the rate of time and one-half of the Custodial Building Leads regular hourly rate;
