Summary Of Job
Set up, adjust, and maintain assigned equipment with responsibility for production and quality on this equipment. Monitor all systems during plant operations. Analyze, diagnose and correct mechanical, electrical problems. Repair and overhaul equipment and controls. Perform preventative maintenance on production and facilities equipment. Assist in the installation on new packaging lines. Coordinates and assign daily workload schedule to mechanics and monitor performance, also ensure proper implementation of daily documentation and procedures. Responsible for sending end of shift email regarding immediate or urgent repairs, assist Maintenance Supervisors and Manager with projects, entering required information in work logs, PMs, work orders, and work notifications, assist with LOTO, GMPs, Safety, Operation trainings.

Essential Functions And Responsibilities
- Ensures city, county, state, and federal regulations relating to the maintenance department are met at all times.
- Cleans tools and maintains food safe repairs to equipment.
- Adequately carries out all activities related to security and quality of the finished product.
- Manages level of adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices with regards to Maintenance, Production and Sanitation
- Complies and enforces Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s)
- Provide repairs on equipment and facilities for Maintenance, Production, Sanitation and the Warehouse, to safely and efficiently run operations.
- May operate equipment during relief periods.
- Keep work area clean and in neat condition.
- Maintain Maintenance shop clean and organized
- Maintain equipment functioning in a safe and efficient operation.
- Inspects used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements.
- Repairs or replaces defective parts. Install special functional and structural parts in devices. Lubricates and cleans parts.
- Sets up and operates safely lathe, drill press, grinder, and other metalworking tools to make and repair parts.
- Initiates purchase order for parts and machines. Repair electrical equipment.
- Analyzes mechanical and operational problems on assigned equipment. Plans for and takes corrective action.
- Analyzes AC/DC circuits 0-480 V, wiring diagrams and drawings to install, repair, calibrate, service, and replace electrical and electronic devices and systems.
- Supports, coaches, mentors, and develops plant Mechanics team members.
- Tests equipment to check operation. Tries out equipment after repairs, changeovers or extended downtime.
- Performs work requiring a thorough knowledge of electrical theory and principals, statuary codes, properties of materials and principals of operation of equipment.
- Makes preventive maintenance check and inspection of assigned equipment, report’s findings to Supervisor and takes appropriate action.
- Perform daily data log entries.
- Constant monitor RedZone Activity (Tablet, monitor on floor or Cellphone).
- RedZone daily meeting attendance.
- Safety daily meeting attendance.
- Constant monitor of maintenance Email for updates on maintenance activities.
- Notifies maintenance department or supervisor of recurring equipment malfunctions and corrective action taken, and of quality problems or supplies needed.
- Instructs and directs any maintenance trainees assigned.
- Ensures equipment is repaired to manufacturer’s specifications.
- Subject to on-call schedule.
- Assign workload to mechanics or technicians with goals.
- Delegate hierarchy order to the activities in the shift according production needs.
- At the end of the shift communicate with the next shift pending activities by maintenance Email with Carbon Copy to Maintenance Supervisor and Manager.
- Drives the development and implementation of maintenance improvement process aimed at improving overall equipment reliability and availability
- Must complete assigned PMs’ and Work Orders by due date.
- Responsible to enforce, maintain updated and or submit documentation of Daily correctives repair, weekly update of PMs data base on G drive, Purchase Requisition, Obsolete Item Report, Equipment Incident Report, Scale Runs, and Temporary Repair Request. Must be submitted to Maintenance Planner and Tool Crib Supervisor.
- Stop production lines when it is considered there are no suitable conditions to produce with preset security and quality standards.
