Position Purpose
Retail Pharmacy Technician, within the scope of the Ohio Administrative Code, will provide timely, accurate, cost effective, and patient-centric pharmaceutical care under the direct supervision of a Registered Pharmacist.
What You Will Do
- Will assist Pharmacists in the retrieval, processing, preparation, and distribution of medications for patient administration which includes:
- Accurate preparation of patient medications
- Accurate and timely delivery of patient specific medications
- Assist with enrollment and processing of Meds2Beds patient medications
- Maintain inventory, medication replenishments, and drug stock
- Assist the Pharmacist with medication or patient care related issues
- Assist the Pharmacist with prior authorizations for medications
- Documents the distribution of medication for proper use and reimbursement in accordance with department policy.
- Enter information into and retrieving information from an electronic health record or prescription processing computer system.
- Insurance claims processing.
- Education: High School Diploma or GED (required)
- Licensure / Certification: Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPT) provided by the National Health Career Association or Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) certification and registration with State Board of Pharmacy (required)
- Experience: Six months of experience in a retail pharmacy or a hospital-based ambulatory pharmacy
