Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated, detail-oriented cheesemaker to join our dynamic cheese manufacturing team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for producing cheese in the vats, including—but not limited to—operating cheese-making vats, using touch screens to control the vats, and working with pH meters. You will also be responsible for operating the various CIP systems used to clean the vats, fines saver, EFVs, curd lines, HTST, barrel line (including probe stations), and the whey recovery system.
Responsibilities
- Possess knowledge of and understand all equipment involved in the operation of the cheese make vats and fine saver, as well as a working knowledge of the barrel line, including lines, valves, tanks, etc.
- Demonstrate knowledge of sampling equipment, including proper sample handling and storage.
- Document all production runs for the day.
- Accurately perform all tests required for quality control.
- Monitor, verify, and record product temperatures, times, and pH.
- Report equipment issues and follow up on all necessary repairs.
- Perform all other assignments as required.
Skills
- Must be a licensed cheesemaker or have the ability to get a license.
- Knowledge of proper use of equipment, materials, and supplies
- Ability to work independently and complete daily activities according to the work schedule
- Ability to lift heavy objects, walk, and stand for long periods of time, and perform strenuous physical labor sometimes under adverse conditions
- Ability to communicate orally and in writing
- Ability to use equipment and tools properly and safely
- Must be available to work flexible hours and weekends.
- Must be able to verbally communicate, understand, and write in the
- English language

Pay: $17.00 - $18.00 per hour
