JOB TITLE: Maintenance Worker
DEPARTMENT: Maintenance
SUPERVISED BY: Director of Workshop and Maintenance
WORK STATUS: Full Time, Hourly (40 hours)
JOB PURPOSE: To ensure that the properties and equipment of the Moultrie County Beacon, Inc. are maintained in such a way as to provide a safe and healthy environment for the staff and the people we serve. This includes the repair and overall maintenance of all agency facilities, equipment, and systems.
QUALIFICATIONS:
· High School diploma/GED certificate required
· Valid driver’s license with proof of vehicle insurance
· Must pass a criminal background check, CANTS background check and drug testing
· Must become CPR/First Aid certified and take OIG training
· Experience in building maintenance preferred
SKILLS:
· Basic repair skills on mechanical equipment, buildings, and machines
· Interpersonal and organizational skills
· Ability to operate power tools/saws
· Must have the ability to drive multiple vehicles: pickup truck with attached trailer, non-CDL buses, cargo truck and fork truck
· Interact with others in a respectful and professional manner
· Work cooperatively with your team
· Must respect confidentiality
· Self-motivated with the ability to multi-task and work independently when needed
· Must have the ability to prioritize jobs beginning with those which could jeopardize safety or compliance with state, local or federal regulations
· Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures
· Knowledge of lawn care equipment and landscaping techniques
JOB DUTIES:
· Maintain general upkeep of all residential (CILA), day program (CDS), and administrative facilities
· Conduct ongoing inspections of all agency properties and equipment to ensure proper upkeep
· Complete routine maintenance on workshop equipment and agency mechanical systems
· Install necessary appliances and equipment as needed
· Collaborate with the team during renovations and facility expansions
· Ensure compliance with agency safety practices including evacuation, safety features such as fire suppressant systems and extinguishers, smoke and heat detectors, etc.
· Responsible for snow removal of sidewalks and entryways of all CDS and administrative locations
· Respond to maintenance requests and safety issues in a timely manner
· Coordinate with contractors and vendors for specialized repairs or installations
· Mow and maintain all agency location grounds
· Perform other maintenance duties as assigned
Physical Requirements:
· Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting, bending, as well as the stamina to engage in activities throughout the day
· Mobility & Agility: Continuous movement, including frequent standing, walking, bending, stooping, kneeling, and climbing stairs.
· Sensory Requirements: Ability to see, hear, communicate, and safely perform the essential functions of the position, including driving agency vehicles, recognizing environmental hazards, responding to emergencies.
