What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mortgage Loan Officer position at Motto Mortgage?
Motto Mortgage Community Partners is a locally owned mortgage brokerage based in Springfield, Missouri. We are part of the national Motto Mortgage network, but our office is independently owned and operated with a strong focus on local service, transparency, and helping clients find the right mortgage solution.
As a mortgage broker, we work with multiple wholesale lenders to offer a wide range of loan options, competitive pricing, and personalized guidance for homebuyers, homeowners, real estate agents, and investors.
We are looking for a motivated Mortgage Loan Officer to join our growing team in Springfield, MO. This is a full-time hybrid role with flexibility to work remotely part of the time.
This position is best suited for someone who understands, or is willing to learn, that mortgage loan origination is a relationship-based, self-sourced business. This is not a call-center position and should not be viewed as a role built around company-provided leads.
Our office provides support, systems, lender access, training, and a professional brand to build under. We are willing to train the right candidate on how to network, build referral relationships, structure loans, and grow their own book of business.
The Loan Officer will be responsible for originating residential mortgage loans, guiding clients through the mortgage process, reviewing borrower financial documents, presenting loan options, communicating with referral partners, and working with processing, underwriting, and lender partners to move loans efficiently toward closing.
Originate and structure mortgage loans for homebuyers, homeowners, and real estate investors.
Build and maintain referral relationships with real estate agents, past clients, local professionals, builders, investors, and community contacts.
Self-source business through networking, follow-up, community involvement, and relationship building.
Guide borrowers through loan options including conventional, FHA, VA, USDA, refinance, investment, construction, and specialty loan programs when applicable.
Review borrower income, credit, assets, and financial documentation to help determine appropriate loan options.
Communicate clearly with clients, real estate agents, processors, underwriters, and lender partners throughout the loan process.
Maintain compliance with federal, state, lender, and company guidelines.
Active Missouri Mortgage Loan Originator license preferred, but not required for the right candidate.
Mortgage lending or sales experience preferred.
Strong communication, follow-up, and customer service skills.
Willingness to network, prospect, and build a self-sourced pipeline.
Self-motivated, professional, organized, and coachable.
Ability to build trust and maintain long-term relationships.
Comfortable learning mortgage products, lending guidelines, and the loan process.
Training and support for the right candidate.
Access to multiple wholesale lending partners through the broker channel.
Local ownership and hands-on leadership.
Hybrid work flexibility.
Professional brand, systems, and operational support.
Opportunity to build your own business in a relationship-driven industry.
