Helmsman (S.S. Panel Shop Project Coordinator)
Job Summary:
To steer the project from Purchase Order to Delivery
To provide legendary customer service with facilitating day-to-day operations in the panel shop
To be the internal and external focal point for successful project planning, management, and communications
To identify supply chain issues and navigate possible solutions to keep the project on course
Managing and administrating all phases of panel shop jobs, including: acting as a liaison between customers and the production team; adhering to the project budget; minimizing costs, build time and risk; and scheduling jobs to meet customer requirements
Orders and maintains required inventory of product, equipment, materials, and supplies for the panel shop
Data entry of quotes, BOM’s, sales orders, purchase orders and project calendar
General Accountabilities:

Plans, organizes, and schedules activities and production to meet customers’ requirements
Ability to move between functions and reprioritize while working in a fast-paced environment
Responds timely and accurately to customers and production teams requests for information

Plans and participates in internal (production team) and external (customer) meetings to promote project success
Serves as a key resource of project information and resolves problems or questions from internal and external sources
Cooperates and coordinates with other departments to ensure smooth and timely flow of materials and the completion of jobs
Assists the production team as needed, strong team player who is proactive, possesses creative problem-solving skills and demonstrates good business judgement
Manages, facilitates, and procures products for BOM’s and communicates product arrival to panel shop staff
Communicates with vendors to obtain pricing information, submit purchase orders, and mitigate supply chain issues
Manages and orders panel shop consumables
Oversees project budgets, materials costs and labor hours to minimize operating expenses
Recommends improvements and implements practices to promote efficiency, faster service and lower costs
Remains informed of the current status of all projects and their current phase of the build and adjusts schedule as necessary
Communicates project status with customers on a regular and timely basis
Manages the scheduling of panel testing and delivery at the completion of the project build
Gathers and organizes all submittal information required by customers
Enters all sales quotes, bills of materials, sales orders and purchase orders for all panel shop jobs making sure to utilize all special pricing provided by vendors
Edits and reviews sales orders at the end of the build for actual parts utilized and total labor hours
Scans and attaches all job files to the sales order in ERP System
Develop, maintain, and renew Vendors’ Special Pricing Agreements
Works closely with Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable to solve problems and facilitate the processing of purchase orders
Effectively and accurately enter data in our ERP System
Coordinates best pricing for freight and determine the best shipping methods
Performs other related duties as assigned or requested
Job Qualifications:
Minimum Education: Some College
Minimum Experience: 2 years of work directly related to the industry
Preferred Education: AA Degree
Preferred Experience: 5 years of work directly related to the industry

Pay Range and Description of Benefits:
- Salary Range: $20.00 to $37.50/hr
- Level I: $20.00 - $26.00/hr
- Level II: $24.00 - $32.00/hr
- Level III: $28.00 - $37.50/hr
