Motlow State is located in the beautiful rolling hills of middle Tennessee and has four campuses that serve students from eleven counties. General Function:

Leads and manages a comprehensive support system that promotes student success, well-being, and equitable access to resources. Oversees case management services, advocates for student needs, and collaborates with campus and community partners to remove barriers to student achievement.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree earned from a regionally accredited institution in education, counseling, psychology, social work, higher ed administration, student affairs, or related field and at least three years of higher education experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

Master's degree in Higher Education Administration, Counseling, Social Work, or a related field and at least five years of experience in student affairs, case management, or advocacy services within a higher education setting.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provide leadership, direction, strategic planning, development and implementation of successful Student Advocacy and Resource initiatives, retention programs, and services that are responsive to student, and college needs. Coordinates hiring of student workers and faculty and staff liaisons.
• Develop and implement policies and programs that support students facing challenges such as food and housing insecurity, financial difficulties, mental health concerns, and other personal hardships.
• Serve as a key advocate for students, ensuring they have access to necessary resources and accommodations.
• Oversee case management services, coordinating interventions and referrals to campus and community resources.
• May lead or serve as a member of a cross functional team for assigned program or projects including training employees and students.
• Serves on the College's Behavioral Intervention Team and assists with crisis planning and student intervention as needed.
• Establish partnerships with campus departments, faculty, and external organizations to enhance support services for students.
• Develop outreach initiatives and educational programming to inform students of available resources.
• Monitor and assess program effectiveness, utilizing data to improve services and student outcomes.
• Manage budgets and seek funding opportunities, including grants, to support the center's mission.
• Ensure compliance with institutional policies, state and federal regulations, and best practices in student advocacy and support services.
• Promote and represent the College at events including at high schools, college fairs, community events/workshops, and related business functions including events that may be scheduled after normal business hours or weekends
• Other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Ability to manage and track referrals and services provided.
• Familiarity with resources and support services both on-campus and in the community (e.g., mental health, housing, food assistance, financial aid).
• Communicate effectively, both in writing and verbally, with prospective students, current students, fellow employees, college administrators, and other stakeholders.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of individuals and constituencies in a diverse community.
• Ability to develop and maintain positive and effective professional relationships with prospective or current students, faculty, staff, executives, K-12 Partners, and other stakeholders.
• Ability to relate effectively with people of varied academic, cultural, and socioeconomic backgrounds using tact, diplomacy, and courtesy as demonstrated through excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to develop professional documents and make individual or group presentations to diverse audiences including prospective students and families, K-12 Partners, faculty, staff, executives, and other stakeholders.
• Knowledge of applicable college policies and local, State, and Federal laws, codes, and regulations concerning college pathways, confidentiality statutes and policies as they apply to FERPA, ADA, Title IX, admissions, financial aid programs, and other areas that affect student enrollment and persistence.
• Problem solving, resourcefulness, and ability to make appropriate referrals.
• Ability to collect, analyze, interpret and present data.
