Prevailing Wage Specialist – Labor Standards (Birmingham, AL)
Motivation Compliance & Training, Inc. is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Prevailing Wage Specialist to join our team in Birmingham, Alabama.
About the Role:
In this full-time position, you will play a key role in ensuring our clients’ compliance with prevailing wage and Davis-Bacon regulations, as well as HUD Section 3 and other regulatory requirements. Your responsibilities will include:
Data Collection & Entry:
- Collect and verify accurate data for certified payroll records.
- Maintain meticulous data entry for all prevailing wage and Davis-Bacon projects.
Compliance Management:
- Monitor client adherence to Section 3 and MWBE (Minority and Women-Owned Business Enterprise) requirements.
- Identify and address any potential compliance issues.
- Develop and implement strategies to mitigate compliance risks.
Travel:
- Expect to travel for 10% to 25% of the time to client sites.
Other Responsibilities:
- Stay up-to-date on prevailing wage and Davis-Bacon regulations.
- Monitor regulatory and administrative changes for HUD Section 3.
- Prepare and maintain compliance reports.
- Assist with training clients on compliance best practices.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred).
- Minimum 2 years of experience in prevailing wage and/or Davis-Bacon compliance, or in construction management or affordable housing (preferred).
- Strong interest in federal and state labor laws.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to travel as required (10-25%).
Compensation & Benefits:
· Compensation range: $35,000 - $65,000 annually.
· Paid time off.
