Job Summary
Position formerly called Teacher of Record - MY Academy is a primarily virtual, independent study program designed to provide flexible, personalized learning for students. While we do not have a physical campus, our learning facilitators and support staff meet with students in person on a weekly basis at mutually agreed-upon locations within their communities. These regular in-person meetings are a core component of our educational model, ensuring students receive the support, guidance, and connection they need to succeed. Weekly in-person meetings with students is an essential part of this role. This role focuses on enhancing learning experiences to drive learning success and student engagement through personalized support and resource guidance. Responsibilities include upholding educational standards, managing compliance with school policies, and fostering collaborative efforts to align with the school's goals. In addition, this role includes participating in tasks and events to promote student enrollment growth within the local community.
Requirements / Qualifications
A Single Subject or Multiple Subject Teaching Credential is required. A copy of all credentials must be provided at the time of hire and kept current as a condition of employment. Valid California Driver’s License (must be maintained throughout employment). State and federal background clearance (LiveScan) as required under Education Code Section 44237. No employee may begin work until clearance is received and Human Resources has notified the immediate supervisor. Proof of a clear TB test dated within the last 60 days (Education Code Section 49406), to be updated every four years. Application Materials: Copy of transcripts (unofficial transcripts are acceptable) Copy of credential(s) Letter of introduction Three (3) current letters of recommendation from immediate supervisors Current résumé
To ensure compliance with state regulations and maintain the highest professional standards, all candidates must meet the following requirements when applying for and maintaining employment with MY Academy: Teaching Credentials Candidates must hold a valid and current California Single Subject or Multiple Subject Teaching Credential. This ensures that teachers are properly qualified to serve diverse student populations. A copy of all credentials must be submitted at the time of hire and updated as necessary throughout employment. Licensing and Background Checks Employees are required to hold and maintain a valid California Driver’s License. In addition, all prospective employees must pass both state and federal background checks (LiveScan fingerprinting) in accordance with Education Code Section 44237. Employment cannot begin until Human Resources confirms clearance has been received and communicates this to the employee’s supervisor. Health Clearance Proof of a clear tuberculosis (TB) test dated within the last 60 days must be provided prior to employment, as mandated by Education Code Section 49406. This screening must be renewed every four years to ensure ongoing compliance with health and safety standards.
