We value collaboration, empathy, and professional growthand were excited to welcome educators who share these values.Position OverviewThe Special Education Teacher will provide individualized instruction, implement IEP goals, collaborate with clinical and educational staff, and help maintain a safe, supportive, and structured learning environment. This role is ideal for teachers who are creative, patient, and committed to trauma-informed, student-centered approaches.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and implement individualized lesson plans aligned with each students IEP.Deliver direct instruction using evidence-based practices tailored to academic, behavioral, social-emotional, and communication needs.Collaborate closely with therapists, paraprofessionals, behavior specialists, and school administrators.Collect data consistently to monitor progress toward IEP goals; adjust strategies based on student performance and team input.Support the development of emotional regulation, communication skills, and positive coping strategies.Maintain a safe, structured, and inclusive classroom environment that promotes learning and well-being.Participate in IEP meetings, parent communication, and interdisciplinary team discussions.Engage in ongoing professional development and contribute to a culture of growth, compassion, and continuous improvement.QualificationsBachelors or Masters Degree in Special Education or related field.Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with LBS1 endorsement required.Experience working in therapeutic day school settings, special education classrooms, or clinical/behavioral environments preferred.Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.Commitment to trauma-informed, student-centered, and strengths-based teaching.BenefitsCompetitive Salary: $50,000$70,000 based on experience.Generous PTO and paid school holidays.Health, Dental, and Vision Insurance offered.Supportive, compassionate team environment.Room for professional growth, continuing education, and mentorship opportunities.Meaningful, purpose-driven work that changes lives.
