What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Analyst, Strategy position at Motional?

As we prepare to launch our commercial robotaxi services, we are seeking talented, mission-driven individuals with a strong history of delivery to join us in fundamentally changing how the world moves.
What you'll be doing:
- Conduct primary and secondary research on market trends and competitive dynamics in the autonomous mobility space to inform Motional's long-term strategy
- Develop and maintain competitor benchmarking materials outlining key movements, commercial and technology strategies, and financial performance to deliver insights to Motional's management team
- Assist in preparing materials for Board of Directors meetings and other official communications with shareholders
- Develop and maintain a dynamic market sizing model to quantify total addressable market (TAM) for Motional's target markets/use cases
- Partner with Finance and Commercialization teams to support ongoing maintenance of Motional's commercial business plan and conduct scenario analysis to pressure test key assumptions
- Support Engineering teams to develop strategic product roadmaps and assess new opportunities to leverage Motional's technology, and prepare materials for executive review
- Conduct secondary research to support various strategy development projects (e.g., transportation landscape across key regions, regulatory analysis, product and competitive analysis, etc…)
What we're looking for:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, finance, economics, or other relevant field of study
- 1-3 years of experience in Strategy Consulting, Corporate Strategy / Development, or other related field, preferably within software/technology or automotive/mobility industries
- Excellent presentation skills and ability to develop executive-ready materials in PowerPoint or Google Slides
- High level of intellectual curiosity and ability to grasp new concepts quickly
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret both quantitative and qualitative data and synthesize multiple data sources into a cohesive, executive-level deliverable
- Ability to multitask and work in an organized, detailed manner
- Self-starter with the ability to deal with ambiguity
Bonus points:
- Experience in the autonomous vehicle or mobility space is a bonus but not required
