Key Responsibilities
- Assemble and wire electrical control panels, enclosures, and sub-panels according to engineering blueprints, wiring diagrams, and schematics.
- Install and connect components such as relays, circuit breakers, switches, transformers, PLCs, and other electrical devices.
- Perform point-to-point wiring, cable routing, and wire termination with accuracy and neatness.
- Test and troubleshoot assembled control panels to ensure functionality and compliance with quality standards.
- Interpret and follow electrical schematics, layout drawings, and technical instructions.
- Ensure all work complies with company standards, safety protocols, and applicable electrical codes.
- Collaborate with engineers, designers, and other team members to resolve technical issues or discrepancies.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring tools and equipment are properly maintained.
- Document and report any issues, modifications, or improvements related to the assembly process.
- Adhere to project deadlines and production schedules while maintaining high-quality workmanship.
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certification in electrical systems or related fields is a plus.
- Proven experience as a control panel builder, electrician, or in a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of electrical components, wiring practices, and control systems.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical drawings.
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and electrical testing equipment.
- Familiarity with electrical standards and codes (e.g., UL 508A, NEC, etc.) is preferred.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand or work in various positions for extended periods.
- Knowledge of industrial automation systems or related technologies.
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing practices or continuous improvement processes.
- Work is typically performed in a manufacturing or production environment.
- May involve exposure to noise, dust, and electrical hazards (with appropriate safety measures in place)
